BIOGRAPHY
Will Keehner is a Florida native from Vero Beach whose passion for music has made him one of the region’s most respected bass players. With more than twenty years of performing experience, he has built a reputation for delivering powerful grooves, tasteful musicianship, and unwavering consistency across a wide variety of musical styles.
Drawing inspiration from legendary bassists such as Oteil Burbridge, Berry Oakley, and Jaco Pastorius, Will blends technical ability with soulful expression. His playing moves effortlessly between funk, blues, jazz, fusion, rock, bluegrass, and pop, allowing him to adapt naturally while always serving the music.
Throughout his career, Will has recorded on numerous albums spanning multiple genres, continually challenging himself to grow as both a musician and performer. His commitment to learning, refining his craft, and supporting the musicians around him has made him a sought-after bassist throughout Florida’s music scene.
As the bassist for Brothers After All, Will provides the solid foundation that allows every performance to come alive. His deep appreciation for the music, combined with his melodic bass lines and unmistakable groove, helps recreate the powerful rhythm section that made this music legendary.
WHY I PLAY
For me, the bass isn’t just another instrument, it’s the heartbeat of the band. It connects the drums to the melodies, creating the groove that gives every song its energy and feel.
The music of the Allman Brothers has always inspired me because every musician has a voice, and the bass plays an essential role in that conversation. I enjoy creating a foundation that supports the guitars, keyboards, vocals, and drums while adding movement and emotion that audiences may not always notice, but always feel.
My goal isn’t to play the most notes. It’s to play the right notes. Sometimes that means locking tightly with the drummer, other times it means adding melodic lines that help push the music forward without getting in the way.
When the rhythm section is working together, everything else becomes effortless. That’s what I strive for every time I step on stage.
